The Navajo Nation occupies much of the north east portion of Arizona. The Navajo Nation extends into parts of New Mexico and the southwest part of Utah. Roughly covering 27,000 square miles, the Navajo Nation is largest land held by a federally recognized tribe in the United States. The Navajo Nation has so much land that the Navajo Nation is larger than 10 states.

Joe Washington has been practicing tribal law at the Navajo Nation for over 35 years. Joe Washington began his legal career working cases in family and criminal law. Joe Washington currently provides legal counsel to an agency of the Navajo Nation.
